Give a little and make a bit impact!

I’ve been inspired this month by the story of Cami Walker.  Diagnosed with MS at a young age, losing her ability to walk, use of her hands, plus sight in one eye; her prescription from an African healer, was to give away 29 gifts in 29 days, with the words that “healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum, but through our transactions with other people.”

Empathy - A Gateway For Change

Empathy - A Gateway For Change

The School Of Life led a dynamic panel last night on Empathy In Australia, where many critical topics we face such as the refugee crisis, global conflict, violence in our homes, internet trolls, and the rise of individualism in western culture, were discussed to investigate how empathic behaviour can have an impact on our society.

However while they were dealing with the bigger issues, it also lead us down a path of exploring how empathy can have a significant effect on our own daily lives, and the lives of people around us.  That we can't just leave it up to our political leaders to create social change.

Get On Target For 2016

Get On Target For 2016

Do you have big dreams for the New Year, but not sure how to get started?

Or are your visions for the future feeling overwhelming, or near on unachievable?

Goal setting helps clarify our aims, and assists us to move forward towards them.

More often than not, the happiness is actually in the journey rather than the attainment of the goal itself, so when we start making some progress towards our future objectives, our target starts to come into view, and we can enjoy the process of the quest.

Don't Give Up

Don't Give Up

This image really struck a chord with me this week.  Many of us put such a brave face on for the outside world, and maybe it's only those close to us who really see the effort that goes into achieving our successes.

Progress Not Perfection

Progress Not Perfection

These words seem to keep coming at me again and again at the moment, and ones I am very much keeping in mind as new challenges are thrown at me from every angle in the past few weeks.

Being a perfectionist at heart, as I know many of us can be, we want to get things "right" at all times, to the point where sometimes we don't attempt things or let fears get in the way of us moving forward.

What Is Your Intention For 2015?

What Is Your Intention For 2015?

Since we are still at the start of a New Year I thought I would do a little re-cap on setting intentions.  Even though we are past the 1st of the month, it is not too late to set ourselves up for the way in which we would like 2015 to look.  In fact for any of you that follow astrology, the 21st January is the first new moon of the year, and is the ideal time for sowing seeds for the future, and birthing new ideas.

YES!!!!

YES!!!!

Opportunities are coming at us all the time, and of course we can't say yes to all of them.  However the purpose of this article is to discuss when we say yes to things that are outside of our comfort zone.  To take a chance on something that may seemingly be the last thing you would ever dream of doing, and say YES.   As often when we are faced with the unknown, our inclination from fear is to shutdown and say no.

This week I was invited to go to Copenhell (don't you just love that name), which is a heavy metal concert.  The featured band was Iron Maiden. Any of you who know me, know that this is not my scene.
