5 EMOTIONS AND WHAT THEY CAN TELL YOU ABOUT YOUR BODY

Your body has an innate capacity to heal itself, yet in our busy lives we have tended to become disconnected from our true nature.

Traditional medicine treats symptoms rather than looking for the underlying cause of where this arises, which has its roots in your mind, thoughts and emotions.

By looking at the emotion and what is going on in the subconscious mind we can provide the conscious mind with knowledge so that you can understand the patterning, and begin to create considered action and change.

Emotions are not good or bad, in fact they are often sign posts to move you in a certain direction, however, when they overwhelm you, or you get lost in them for long periods of time, they can become debilitating and move you out of your natural flow in life, they can affect your energy and overall wellbeing.

In Kinesiology and the mind body connection, we look to the Traditional Chinese medicine system to begin to recognize what underlies the physical symptoms so we can bring your body back to a sense of balance, and you can create a healthier and happier life.

Here are five key emotions that can affect your energy and flow of your body and mental state, and how by correlating the connection you can shift them.

ANGER

Anger can either exist in bursts, or be repressed; it can be useful for inspiring action, or moving through fear if used in appropriate ways.

When it is left unchecked , it can cause a scattered mind, stagnation and could also lead to more extreme outbursts.

Physically it can lead to headaches, brain confusion, shortness of breath, poor digestion, poor memory and vision.  It effects liver function and also cause health disturbances like depression and unbalanced menstrual function.

FEAR

Fear can be useful, it is triggered by the fight flight system that keeps you safe if you are in any real danger.

Yet, when you are in constant fear that is unregulated, it can cause you to be on hyper alert and constantly vigilant leaving you in anxiety, panic and timidity.

Physically it affects the kidneys and your adrenal glands, as well as your heart.  You lose energy, can have urinary or bladder problems, hearing problems or ringing in the ears, lower back pain, hair loss and osteoporosis.

JOY / ELATION

Joy is connected to your heart, makes you feel alive, positive and in harmony with the world.  Joy is the natural result of living in your true nature.

However, like anything you can have too much of a good thing, you can’t stay there infinitely, and when joy pushes into elation and over excitement you can become agitated, even manic, feel tired, overwhelmed and overemotional.

Physically this can lead to heat in the body, heart pain, palpitations, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, it can affect blood circulation and also your complexion.

If you have too little joy it can also lead to depressive tendencies.

SADNESS

Sadness is most associated with loss and grief, and our ability to accept and begin to find a way to move on.

Loss is a part of the natural order of our world and none of us is immune.  Everything in life is always changing but if you hang on to what is past, and reject the new circumstances, you use lose your vitality and your life-force.

Physically it plays a big part in your immunity, your lung function, frequent colds, your ability to breathe properly, asthma, coughing and allergies.

WORRY / OVER THINKING

We have access to so much information coming to us through nature itself as well as having almost anything we want to know at the touch of a button.

Productive thinking can lead to positive action, we digest the information and find ways to use it and put it together to create all sorts of wonderful things, yet when it shifts into overthinking, and obsessive worry, you may not act at all, getting stuck in the thought process.

Physically it affects the spleen, your digestion, tiredness, loss of appetite and your ability to absorb nutrients, blood disorders and your energy.

HOW CAN KINESIOLOGY HELP?

When small or large traumas, or inappropriate thought forms become physical manifestations, it is a representation of what is going on underneath.  By working with them energetically for natural healing, we focus on what is behind the symptoms.

The aim is to create a calm heart, one that can observe the comings and goings of the emotions, process them, but not become so triggered that you end up in disruption that leads to physical or mental instability.  Then you’re not a slave to the emotion, rather you let the emotion indicate to you what it needs so you can shift into healing.

We do this by creating self-awareness through muscle testing, then using acupressure, counselling, and other forms of vibrational healing to bring you back into balance, so your mind, body and your spirit are interwoven in a state of peace and wellbeing.
